Slam The Curtains, Draw The Door…

As an aside to yesterday’s review of the fantastic Tom Williams and the Boat’s magnificent album, Too Slow… here’s an odd thing. TWATB’s best song isn’t on it. Last year, their See My Evil EP was released, featuring five songs. There was the title track, of course, plus the excellent Get Older, and the very average Strong Wheels, all of which can be found on the new album. But there was also the gorgeous ballad In Love, and the absolutely f’in brilliant Kick The Cat. Why this didn’t make the album, I’ll never know, as it’s catchy as all hell and has the best lyrics of any TWATB song by some distance (and that’s quite a compliment), but happily, it’s on Youtube in another Songs From The Shed session.

Cannot, for the life of me, imagine why anyone would prefer Strong Wheels to this. I’m going to blame the record company. Probably something  to do with the Arcade bloody Fire…
